A. The entry fee is used to produce The Brisbane Musical Theatre Competition including the Auditions and Gala Performance. It also helps to cover administration, printing, advertising, promotion, hire of sound and lighting equipment and other expenses. We are a non profit organisation made up of members who are volunteers (no one is paid).
A. No. The entry fee is non-refundable.
A. Yes. Both the audition heats and the Gala Performance (finals) are open to the public. Tickets are available to both events. Please refer to Booking Information for more details.

Q. Can I use a copied CD (or similar) during the heats or finals?
A. No. You must abide by Australian Copyright Laws during the Competition. The Sound Engineer will usually only accept original CDs etc to accompany you. Dance Schools are subject to their individual Copyright agreements.
Q. Can I use a live accompanist?
A. Yes. You may use a live accompanist - a piano will be provided during the heats and finals for accompanists to use. NB Sheet music used by accompanists during the Competition must abide by Australian Copyright Laws.
A. Yes. Competitors usually wear costumes to enhance their performances. Simple props may be used as necessary.

Q. Do I have to use a microphone?
A. Yes. All competitors who sing/speak are required to use a headset microphone during the Competition. This provides a consistent sound quality and volume for both the judges and audience.
